The Buying Group formally known as “Tech Supplies Buying Group”was started by PRC Technologies (acquired by Budget in February of 2010) in Southern Maine. At the inception of the group, PRC Technologies was refilling its own cartridges and doing all the shipping and warehousing of product. There were a dozen school districts purchasing printing supplies when a tech director approached PRC and suggested forming a buying group to help lower pricing. School accounts at the time were approached and asked if they would be interested in receiving a discounted price in exchange for listing them as a member of the Group. From there the group was formed.
Today the Buying Group not only includes schools but is open to municipalities and non-profits. Clients are primarily throughout New England and some are even as far away as the Mid West.
